31st of May – 2nd of June 2022

After a break of a few years, the Faculty of Organizational Sciences of the University of Maribor has again organized an international study visit for students and professors of the Faculty. The students and professors left for Münich in the early hours of Wednesday, 31st of May 2022. There, they visited the BMW car production plant and the BMW Museum. The guided tour of the production site gave a first-hand impression of the everyday life of the factory employees and, in particular, of the robots that carry out a significant part of the factory's activities. It was also interesting to hear how the working hours of the 8000 employees from more than fifty different countries are organized. The BMW business environment is opposite the BMW Group headquarters and the BMW Welt Museum. It is one of BMW's flagship factories, where around 800 cars and 1000 engines are produced every day.

After the factory tour, we drove to Offenbach, a town outside Frankfurt, where we spent the night. After breakfast, we went to Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences, the headquarters of the HOLM unit, the House of Logistics and Mobility. A professor from the university showed us around the lecture theatres and gave us an excellent lecture on intercultural management together with German students. The students worked in groups, with German students and students from our faculty in each group.

After our visit to the faculty, we had a walk around Frankfurt before heading back to Münich, the capital of Bavaria.

After breakfast, we first visited the business environment of the Allianz Arena and the museum and business environment of the Bayern Football Club. It was fascinating to walk through the stands, to be completely close to the pitch, and to walk through the rooms where some of the best football players in the world are located during matches. The guided tour complemented our background knowledge of the Allianz Arena's business environment and brought us closer to the world of football in all its glory.

After a visit to the Allianz Arena, there was a tour of the Deutsches Technical Museum in Münich, a walk around the city, and then a return to Kranj in the evening.

There is no doubt that both professors and students were impressed by the whole program, which enriched our knowledge of how business organizations operate in an international environment. Undoubtedly, such international visits, in addition to other activities that we carry out at the Faculty alongside the regular study process, will become a permanent feature, through which we will build intercultural networking, knowledge of international business environments, and above all, always focus on accompanying our graduates and students on their career paths with the knowledge, competences and breadth that will lead them to the desired jobs and working environments.
