Senate

The Senate of the Faculty is an expert body of the Faculty composed of the higher education Lecturers and scientific workers, who are employed at the University of Maribor. The members of the Senate are elected by the Faculty's Academic Assembly in a way where all the scientific disciplines and the Faculty's professional fields of study are represented equally and suitably. In addition to that, the representatives of students are also elected in the Senate. The term of the members of the Senate who come from the ranks of the higher education Lecturers and colleagues is four (4) years while the term of the members of the Senate who come from the ranks of the students is one (1) year. The students are elected by the Faculty’s Student Council. In accordance with his position, the Dean is the presiding member of the Senate who is, therefore, responsible for its convening and management.

For the purposes of dealing with and studying of issues and giving the opinions, proposals and positions from the Faculty’s Senate field of work, the Senate has the following Permanent Commissions:

  • Commission for Study Affairs,
  • Commission for Scientific and Research Affairs,
  • Commission for International Cooperation,
  • Commission for Evaluation of Quality
