ERASMUS+ TRAINEESHIPS ABROAD
The aim of this call is to give UM students and young graduates an experience abroad that will have a positive and long-term impact on their personal and professional development and encourage mobility. The main objective of this call is to enable UM students and young graduates to acquire knowledge, skills and experience that add value to their education or work at home:
- Improved learning achievement;
- improved employability and career prospects;
- enhanced self-initiative and entrepreneurship;
- increased independence and self-confidence;
- improved foreign language skills;
- enhanced intercultural awareness;
- more active participation in society;
- increased awareness and understanding of other cultures and countries by providing opportunities to build networks of international contacts;
- Increased awareness of the European project and EU values;
- Increased motivation to participate in future (formal/informal) education or training after the mobility period abroad.
The professional practical training abroad must be linked to the student's field of study, which must be guaranteed by all actors involved before the mobility starts, and in particular by the mentor at the home faculty and the Erasmus faculty coordinator by signing the "Learning Agreement for Traineeship" document.
Young UM graduates are also eligible for practical training abroad, but they must apply during their final year of studies (i.e. while they are still an active student) and must complete their professional practical training within one year of graduation.
Mobility can last from 2 months (min. 60 days) to 12 months. Students can benefit from Erasmus status and receive an Erasmus grant for periods of mobility lasting a maximum of 12 months in total per cycle or level of study, regardless of the number or type of mobility activities. The time spent travelling under the terms of the programme cannot be counted towards the duration of the period for which the student is eligible to receive a grant.
The mobility period may be completed during the first, second and third cycle of studies or within a maximum period of one year after the student graduates. This also includes "assistantships" for future teachers.
It is up to the student to find a placement partner abroad. CMEPIUS advises caution with regard to various intermediary agencies and advises students to contact companies directly.
More detailed information about the Erasmus+ Traineeship Programme can be found on the Unierze v Maribor student mobility website.
