Zvone Balantič received his PhD in Engineering Sciences from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Ljubljana, in 1997, and today he is a full professor at the University of Maribor, Faculty of Organizational Sciences, habilitated in the field of Man in the Work Process. His early research and professional work was related to renewable energy sources and modelling of heat and material transfer, which he later intertwined with the field of medicine, and research into the physiology of the respiratory system and the oscillation of air in breathing. Today, his research and teaching focus is in the field of ergonomics. Over the years, he has become a renowned expert in the field of ergonomics, as evidenced by the large number of professional projects carried out in collaboration with national and international companies. Since 2003, he has been the Head of the Department of Business and Production Systems Engineering. He has been a mentor and co-mentor to numerous students, whom he lectures at all three levels of study. In his teaching practice he has also collaborated with other faculties and universities at home and abroad. He is the author of many scientific and professional papers, several written and e-monographs. He is a member of the organising and programme committees of various conferences. His oeuvre is also strongly intertwined with the arts of photography, video and multimedia.
