Subject-specific competences

During the course of the study, the student becomes familiar with the key facts, laws and dependencies in the field of crisis management, as well as methodological approaches and tools/functions of the management process and other functions.

During the course of the studies, the graduate is trained to perform crisis management functions operationally in a wide range of organizations, both in the private and in the public spheres.

During the course of the studies, the student is trained to respect the ethics of crisis management, the legislative frameworks and good practices for crisis management and crisis resolution.

The study is strongly applied-oriented.

The professional profile of the study programme thus enables graduates to:

  • developing a wide range of competences to effectively manage the field of crisis management: from the basics of crisis management to crisis response methods and crisis management at a higher level;
    competences in psychology, legislation and information support for crisis management and GIS;
    the student will be able to identify the different levels of critical infrastructure at national, state and European community level;
  • the student acquires the ability to perform a basic level of crisis management in organizations and in society, both nationally and internationally;
  • the student builds the basics of foreign - English language in the field of crisis management;
  • the student acquires competence in the fields of psychology, legislation and information support for crisis management.
  • the student develops a wide range of competences to effectively manage human resources: awareness of the importance of human resources management in crisis management, upgrading of the strategic role of human resources management for the needs of crisis management, ability to apply basic methods of human resources management in crises, ability to manage human resources in crises.
  • the student identifies the different levels of critical infrastructure at national, state and European Community level;
  • the student identifies and acquires competences in the field of project work methods and techniques for the implementation of processes and projects in the field of crisis management;
  • students develop and acquire competences in crisis communication;
  • the student acquires the ability and basic knowledge in the field of crisis management in the field of aviation.
  • to deal with pre-crisis, crisis and post-crisis processes in the field of comprehensive risk management - internal risks within the organization, external risks of organizations (organization-related and non-organization-related),
    apply legal knowledge to manage crisis situations,
  • use crisis management information systems, databases and use information correctly for decision-making before, during and after a crisis,
  • properly identify responsibilities and authorities, tasks and attitudes in crisis situations,
  • develop appropriate crisis management and crisis resolution plans and post-crisis recovery plans,
  • make appropriate plans for the rescue and psychosocial care of those involved in crises and make appropriate plans for psychological and social reconstruction after crises,
  • respond in a timely manner to the different risks of the internal and external environment during crises, communicate with the internal and external environment and communicate with crisis actors.
Graduate profile

Graduates of the first degree programme in Crisis Management (VS) are qualified to apply methodological knowledge (analytics, simulation and modelling) in solving practical problems in crisis management. He/she is able to manage operational crisis management in a variety of organizations, to carry out operational work in the field of crisis management and coordination, to plan and organize work with human resources, to resolve uncertainties and to establish basic stress management mechanisms in organizations in the event of a crisis situation.
