Azure Dev Tools for Teaching, formerly known as Microsoft Imagine, DreamSpark and MSDN-AA, is a Microsoft programme that supports technical education by providing access to Microsoft software for learning, teaching and research.
Through Azure Dev Tools for Teaching, UM employees and students are able to install and use specific Microsoft licensed software for research purposes, free of charge.

Students have access to licences for Microsoft 365 Apps. This is a software suite that includes Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, OneNote, Teams, Publisher, Access,... More details can be found here.
Microsoft 365 is a user service that gives you access to Office applications on up to 5 Windows PCs or Macs, 5 tablets and 5 smartphones. You can use the web version of Office ProPlus or install the desktop version.

Access to information sources and search engine UM:NIK (UKM)
Students and staff at the University of Maribor can access, under applicable licensing terms, all subscription-based electronic information sources (electronic scientific journals, electronic books, etc.) and the search engine UM:NIK by using computers located within the computer network of the University of Maribor.
Because access is regulated on the basis of registered IP addresses of computers, sign-in is not required. More information offers University of Maribor Library which also allows remote access.

ProQuest: Users can search the databases ProQuest Central and ProQuest Dissertations and Theses simultaneously or separately – A&I, also full text access.

Access to Gartner
As the only higher education institution in Slovenia, the University of Maribor provides users with free access to the Gartner portal.
Gartner is the world's leading information technology research and advisory company. Gartner delivers the technology-related insight necessary for clients to make the right decisions.
Users can access the entire Gartner Core Research collection totalling over 80,000 A4 pages, which is being constantly updated by 750 experienced analysts and 600 advisers. Gartner has divided its research into 54 Focus Areas, each of which offers insight into detailed analyses, strategies, tactics, trends, news, providers and products.
Users may also request a conference call with Gartner advisers or remote advisory engagement (only for employees).

SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) is a software package used for statistical analysis. The package consists of various tools for data management and predictive analytics, which are easy-to-use and intended for business users, analysts and statistical programmers.
UM's Computer Centre coordinates the purchase of the IBM SPSS license software package for member institutions. For more information, please contact the ICT coordinator at your faculty.
Before installing SPSS software on MacOS, it is necessary to check supported OS versions at this link.
