Tomaž Kern is a full professor in the field of organisation and informatics. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, a Master's degree in Computer Science and a PhD in Organisation Science. Since 1990 he has been a full-time employee at the Faculty of Organizational Sciences, University of Maribor. He is a lecturer in Business Process Management and Multiproject Management. He is the head of the Business Systems Engineering programme. He is the head of the Laboratory for the Engineering of Business and Production Systems (LIPPS). He was the Vice-Dean and Head of the Organization and Management Institute. He has been Vice-Chancellor and member of the Board of Directors of the University of Maribor. He is currently a member of the Senate of the University of Maribor. Tomaž Kern has authored or co-authored more than 500 articles and other publications, has been an invited speaker at international conferences and has been a leader of research projects. He has also led projects in the field of BPM and PM in industry and various institutions. He is a founding member of the Slovenian PMI Association.
