Matjaž Maletič is a member of the Department of Business and Production Systems Engineering. In 2003 he graduated from the Faculty of Biotechnology, University of Ljubljana, in the field of wood engineering and in 2006 he graduated from the Faculty of Organizational Sciences, University of Maribor, in the field of organization and management. In 2013 he completed his PhD in Quality Management (title of his PhD thesis: "Influence of Sustainable Quality Management on Organizational Performance") at the Faculty of Organizational Sciences, University of Maribor. His research interests focus on better understanding the process of development and implementation of management systems, especially in relation to standardisation and with the aim of addressing broader sustainable business challenges. He links management systems to different research paradigms such as quality, innovation and asset management.  He is the author or co-author of numerous original scientific articles published in Slovenian and foreign scientific journals, including Journal of Cleaner Production, International Journal of Production Research, Total Quality Management & Business Excellence, Journal of manufacturing technology management, Management and production engineering review, Production planning & control, Quality innovation prosperity, etc. Matjaž Maletič is the co-editor of the journal Organisation and a reviewer for international journals in the field of his research activities. He is also a member of various professional associations, including the Technical Committee of the Slovenian Institute of Standardization (SIST). As a representative of the University of Maribor, he is also a member of the Certification Management Board (UOC) of the Slovenian Institute of Quality and Metrology (SIQ).
